Less than a year ago I, like millions of others across the globe, hit the milestone age of 60.
It's been a tumultuous year.
It follows several such years, some of which have been wonderful with marriages and births. Two of my daughters married; each of my three daughters gave birth to a son in the space of three months.

Some of it has been dire with the loss of both my parents, father-in-law, brother-in-law, a niece, and a nephew.
Some of it leaves a bitter taste, a feeling of waste, and a yearning for a society that cares.
On the one hand, I have the joy and love of my grandchildren; on the other, I am unemployed in a society that chooses to ignore the value of a life of experience.
So here I am, a mother of four, grandparent to six, artist, photographer and hopeful writer.
What will you find here?
I plan to write about coping with later life, keeping healthy (both mentally and physically), dealing with loss, and helping your children with increasingly stressful lives.
There will be blood, guts and teeth gnashing (where there are teeth left to gnash).
There'll be sharing and caring, joy and laughs.
I'm passionate about our environment and how we can preserve it for our children and grandchildren, so there will be plenty of posts about the little things we can do to help.
I hope you'll join in with me and share your own triumphs, disasters, and hard-earned experience.
